One Station, Every Format: The Axial Feeder K-Type for Mixed Through-Hole Production
El Axial Feeder K-Type sequences, orients, and presents leaded components to a through-hole insertion spindle. Strip-feed and bulk-bowl loading are interchangeable per format, accepting axial resistors, axial capacitors, axial chokes, and leaded indicator LEDs. Strip width, inter-component pitch, lead diameter, and component body diameter are configured by recipe parameters. Closed-loop drive control damps torque transients across reels, sticks, and bulk bowls without re-homing the station.
The strip-guide channel machined to nominal reel geometry suppresses tape skew and component rotation at the source. Lead-forming die and cut-blade modules sit beside the escape track for inline changeover without halting the downstream spindle. A vision station reads body diameter and color-band code while a downstream laser micrometer cross-checks lead pitch and standoff. Parts flagged outside the acceptance window are shunted before the spindle spends a stroke.
The feeder fits insertion stations at electronics factories where residual through-hole content is still mixed onto SMT-dominant boards.
